- Fundraising ideas:
- OUR IDENTITY: procedure for 501c3 name change.
- We need to vote on this and amend our bylaws as appropriate. Patrick’s inquiries so far indicate that there is not a problem to do this, as previously advised. It will take some paperwork and some time though – not just on FYA’s part, but Clearwater Counseling will also have to update all their records with insurance companies.

- of Clearwater Counseling office to accommodate staff for FYA. In the future, we will have multiple employees and will need to consider office space issues. There will be an office at The Door for shelter staff, but not sufficient for overall operations including admin. Marylee will share thoughts on this.

- protocol for shared document revisions, edits, etc. Patrick will discuss this for 5-10 minutes to bring people up to speed on how it works.

- The Walk for Charity held on May 11 brought in ~ $260.
- Markets:
Good questions and good stories from our customers - 6/4/ Down Town – 1 hour only, severe rain storm hit and the Vistas were in standing water 4″ deep. We packed up early.
- 6/6 Farmer’s Market – They made $44.00 dollars with a 4.0 donation. We pay a flat $10.00 + a 10% charge on profit.
- 6/13/ Farmer’s Market – Rainy day – but they made $20.00 + 12.00 in donations
- 6/18/ Down Town Market, ~$50.00 in sales and ~$30.00donations

Vista Updates

Helping Meagan with markets.
Helping Marylee with grant. Completed Disaster Response Flip Chart, Updated training chart for future shelter staff and am currently working on policies.
From Meagan:
I began as an Americorps VISTA at FYA on May 7th, 2012 and since then, have been working to organize materials for our booth at the Monday Downtown markets and the Wednesday Tanana Valley Farmers’ Markets. I have also (slowly but surely…the market has been quite time consuming) been working with MailChimp to organize a template for the online newsletter. Please refer to the attached spreadsheet with market expenses.
Barb and I had said yes to job descriptions; benefits was not understood as part of the commitment-but we are working those in with the assist of MaryLee’s expertise! we should also get input from Brad?
Also – if everyone could keep in mind the number of hours you have volunteered in the May – June for FYA, – I will pass a paper around for each person to record their hours. We keep track of this officially in a google doc as well – but I’m not sure everyone can access it.

Please add to the agenda a discussion about choosing the date for the retreat. So far the two options are: July 28th (without Patrick) or September 22nd (without Brad or Danny).
Mike Walsh also has September 8th, 23rd (Sundays) available.
I have asked about October dates from Mike, but have not heard back yet. Perhaps you could discuss a potential date that works for everyone in October? (Though I am unavailable October 6th & 13th.)
I’m sorry I can’t be there for this meeting, but would appreciate it if you discussed these dates and voted without me. Thanks!
