I’ve been doing some testing and I think I have resolved two issues.

1) Everyone should now get a notification when a new blog is posted

2) Additionally, you should no longer need to check the box under the comments area to get notified.

Could you please respond to this post and let me know that you received it. Once I hear from everyone, I’ll send a follow up message and this can be our active, new functional blog.
