With the help of Barb and others, we’ve worked up position descriptions for the 5 AmeriCorps members who will be living at the shelter. I need to advertise these ASAP, but I thought – if we are going to charge them rent – even a small fee – like 150 or 200 per month – it should be a board decision AND I should put it in the positions descriptions.
They will be receiving a 1000.00 per month as a living allowance. This is NOT PAY – but a living allowance. They will also earn a 5550.00 ed award when done with their year long term of service. They also, most likely, will all be able to get food stamps.
Thoughts on the “rent” or utilities contribution?? Or whatever we want to call it.
