- Meeting called to order at 5:32 pm. Convened via Zoom video conference and at Clearwater. Attendees: Jim Williams, Joyce Weis, Dave Miller, Kendi Adams, Alnise Wyles. A quorum was present. Absent: Paul Alanson. We did lose Dave Miller’s connection part way through, but a quorum was present for the remainder. Guest: Jocelyn.

- Budget update – nothing to report today
- Fundraising- general plan through Summer 2021 FMH Fitness Studios – Spin for A Cause July 4th at 2pm– we will have a table for The Door
- ED Report
- COVID Update – lifting “Shelter in Place” slowly. Some staff members have decided to get vaccinated.
- Staffing Update – new hire. Madison – vista, working on online presence such as Ticktock. Staff just completed verbal de-escalation training.
- Drake Street Update – We have a house-sitter set to come in for part of May. $1800 mortgage, $200 utilities. If we sold the house, then the funds would go back into the Yocum Funds. There is nothing in YHDP application that is binding to have the Drake Street property, and if we sold the Drake Street House, we could still get the Life Navigators and set their office up at the Red House.Jim made a motion to sell Drake Street House so we can focus on our current assets. (MSP Jim, Kendi). Dave Miller would probably support, but we lost his connection during the meeting for this vote. This motion passed unanimously with those board members present which was Jim, Kendi, and Joyce which was enough to form a quorum. We will delegate the task of selling to Dave Miller.
- Shelter Update –trying to make youth/shelter more culturally aware and welcoming.
- Clearwater Update- Dave Bates has posted a listing for another counselor. The board would like to get some numbers on how things would benefit the organization. Update on the second counselor. Alnise to consult with Mike O’Brien on Clearwater staffing. Kendi requests a Clearwater report for the board from Dave Bate for next meeting.
- YHDP Update- Final document submission happened in February. We are on a hold for this as HUD is having technical and system issues, and we should have an update by Mid-May.
- Building update- last week had some plumbing issues for the upstairs bathroom in the shelter, and then in the office from the roof. Had to have snow removal on the roof and it is recommended we do this every year for the shelter.
- Education – IATC Conference – Alnise will be attending this starting this Sunday, April 25th through Friday, April 30th in Seattle.
- Unfinished Business
- Planning Meeting for Core Values, Strategic Plan, and Business Plan (tabled)
- Treasurer’s position – tabled to next meeting
- ED Evaluation process – ready to launch!
- Thank you calls to donors – Alnise has a financial contributors Excel spreadsheet, will send to Joyce
- IRS 990 filing for 2020 – needs to be approved by the board before sending this off.
- Transfer of shelter from CoF to FYA – per Alnise, this is in motion. An ordinance will go before the city council and we have to testify, we just need the date.
- One Homeless Night (May 21st) – Alnise would give a bundle of social media to the Vista Madison (spelling). Patrick will get the link on our website. We will maybe put in a radio ad. Alnise to contact Design Alaska for the new date. Costs: Food and Advertising. Event: Tour of the Door, share youth stories, share our mission. Fort building contest. Supposed to be a quiet time but doesn’t always have to.
- Community & Donor Appreciation Block Party – June 12 2pm – anyone can come. Invite Patrick, Sarah, and Marylee, and staff for recognition.

We have a very good offer on Drake, I plan to accept it on Monday morning, setting in motion the process of completing the sale.
We are making progress on the red house, some painting is complete and we will probably start flooring next week.
