Here are the updated policy documents that we should be apprised of and review. Any final comments please send them to Marylee, or make them here on the post. As an alternative, you can download a .zip file off all of these documents so you can read through them your computer. That link is: www.fairbanksyouthadvocates.org/fya-shelter-policies.zip
Marylee just notified me that we had the first guest at the shelter last night, referred from the Fairbanks Rescue Mission.

Thank you everyone. Of course – the truth is that all of them are works in progress and what seems reasonable today – might seem ridiculous a month from now. We will review them as often as we need. There might be a few more to come depending on the State of Alaska’s recommendations.
Kathryn, they will be posted later today.
I can’t think of any additions to the following policies: safe guarding youth, incident communication, harassment policy, grievance, drug/alcohol (definitions were handy), guest disciplinary, confidentiality, back round check in procedure;

volunteer liability release and waiver: can we really waiver if we are negligent?
Whew-good work!
2. Incidents: debriefing is good not only to get a face to face account, but also for emotional assessment of all people involved & to evaluate how the system/protocol worked. In the past, yes there is a form for that..
Marylee, Dick and Sarah have done an amazing job with setting up the shelter.
I enjoyed my interview!
Thank you – from all of us.
