February Fundraiser: Danny said Friends Church is happy to accommodate and advertise at church. Marylee called West Mark and will meet with them soon to see if they canaccommodate this event. Friends Church is our backup. We would be responsible for clean-up and there is a caterer there. This dance will be semi-formal with live music,and low ticket prices. There will be information on tables to support FYA and asilent auction. Maybe a live auction if we get sizeable items. There will be informational material and screening of needs and information throughout the event. Rilene suggested several musical groups. There was discussion about getting donations for the auction portion. We need a form letter in order to solicit donations. Danny suggested we have $10, $50, $100 grab bags—that much or more inside for instance ($200 worth of gas for $50).
What do with funds—need to communicate what funds are going to. Dave Miller said we need to be very specific as to where funds will be spent. Danny has asked Fairbanks Memorial to match funds raised at this event. Will schedule meeting in Sept to work on this.
Other: Red Tent may take on a play next summer; sharing stories. The Rescue Mission which is heavily funded just hadtheir most successful fundraiser. It grows each year.
