.We use email or our board website for most of our business. Will accessibility or technological ability be a problem for you? Not at all. I am very comfortable with electronic communication.
.Have you read and can you agree with the Bylaws as written? as well as our Board Member Responsibilities, Code of Ethics, and Job Descriptions? Yes, it’s the main reason I’m interested in your organization!
3. Why are you interested in serving on the board of Fairbanks Youth Advocates? I have always had a heart for at risk youth. I have worked with them in my hometown by ministering to them and providing free medical care and truly believe this is where God is calling me to work in Fairbanks.
.What is your professional experience with leadership and/or your accomplishments in business, government, philanthropy, or the nonprofit sector: I am a physician who went back to medical school in order to be more effective as a medical/Christian missionary. I am on the Board of Directors for a non-profit 501-c3 corp that sends medical and dental teams where very few will go to help children who have no other options. I am very comfortable in a position of leadership and speaking in public places. I have been a business owner for over 12 years and I have the background to help with decisions to make an organization both viable and pertinent in the community in which it exists.
.Briefly outline your volunteer service for other organizations: I have been fortunate enough to be given a servants heart from my father. We have volunteered in several venues from delivering Christmas baskets to kids that have nothing to taking patients with cancer to their chemotherapy for the American Cancer Society. Vounteering is a part of my life and when I saw Micah 6:8 on your website, I really knew I had found the group for me because it’s my life verse! As I was praying for God to send me to do His will, I stumbled upon that on your website…….Coincidence??? NO WAY!
.What are some specific skills and strengths that you can bring to the Board? A burning desire to help the at risk youth in our city have the same opportunity every other child has to succeed, Fund Raising ( I work at FMH with numerous Physicians that have no time to help, but want to give back to their community), Leadership, Experience in building a 501C3 corporation, Eagerness to learn, Communication and teamwork,
