There are 3 organizations that I would suggest that we be part of:
1) Arctic Alliance for People, also just referred to as Arctic Alliance is a group that meets monthly. The annual dues would be $25.00. This is a group of over 75 agencies and individuals (view memberlist ) who are dedicated to educate decision-makers and the community of changing trends in human service needs.
Arctic Alliance for People supports funding for Human Service programs to guarantee that all Alaskans have access to appropriate, affordable and quality services.
These are the Guiding Principles for Arctic Alliance for People.
2) Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce: “For over 50 years, the Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce (GFCC) has been an advocate for Fairbanks Businesses. With over 750 members, GFCC membership is open to all businesses and individuals. Benefits include networking opportunities, advocacy, additional marketing and promotional opportunities and more. ” link to website
Member Application-electronic version (this membership is $250.00 a year ?????)
2012 Fairbanks Chamber Legislative Priorities BOD approved 9.26.11
3) Fairbanks Homeless and Housing Coalition (yeah for free) This group is part of a wider consortium at the state level. There is an annual state wide conference in Anchorage, usually in the fall. This group also puts on PHC: Project Homeless Connect, an annual event held in January that provides a wide variety of services under 1 roof, for the homeless population. I have been the youth chair for awhile – a sub-committee of the FHHC.
Please express opinions:
I need consensus here to move ahead. Should we talk about it at the meeting?
Let’s wrap it up at the meeting.
I say yes to 1 and 3,but I am not sure about 2 the chamber of commerce for $250.00.
