Hello fellow board members,
If you could quickly reply to the following matter it would be greatly appreciated.
Regarding our name, and its relative website URL:
I went ahead and secured the URL www.interioryouthtransitions.org. As I began working with visual and descriptive comments to give clarity to the name and what we are about, there seemed to be something about it that was cumbersome and not implicitly descriptive enough. After a lot of thought, I realized that the term transitions within the name is a verb and it seemed to me that a noun was more fitting. Transitions, although an excellent description, is a pretty wide open term. For the sake of clarity and for a name that I think it is a little easier for people to identify with, I’m proposing “FAIRBANKS YOUTH ADVOCATES”. When describing to friends who and what we are, an advocate is something easier for people to embrace and partner with, in contrast to the vagueness around the term “transitions”.
The glitch in all of this is that the grant is due on the 24th, in just a few days, so I’d like to hear from all of you ASAP, as to your thoughts on the name matter.
I also think it is closer to what we hope to accomplish and does not Limit what we do. . . .but just who we serve: youth.
