When Hope Gets an Address
September 8, 2026The First Key
She called us late in the evening. Alone, overwhelmed, and unsure where else to turn.
The next day, she walked through our doors, nervous but brave enough to share her story and how life had started to lose its color.
An hour later, we walked with her to our transitional housing unit and showed her an available room.
As we walked back, she quietly whispered,
“I’m so happy I found this place.”
At that moment, the statistics didn't matter. It was safety, stability, and a reason to keep moving forward.
Sometimes, one open door can change the direction of an entire life.
It gave hope an address.
