When he came to The Door, he knew he wanted something different for his life. He just needed the opportunity to start building it.

When Evolve launched, he became the first person to enter the program. He came in with goals and, more importantly, the determination to follow through on them.

During his time in Evolve, he worked toward becoming more independent. Finding a job, finishing high school, earning his driver’s license, and getting a car. Each step brought him closer to the life he was working to create.

The final piece was finding a place of his own. Turning his own key.

By the time he graduated from Evolve, he had done it. He had his own apartment, along with the stability and independence to continue moving forward.

His story is a reminder that sometimes progress looks like a series of small steps: getting up, going to work, finishing school, passing the driving test, saving for a car, and eventually turning the key to a place that is yours.

He was the first person to enter Evolve.

Today, he has something even bigger than a place to live.

He walked out with something he had been working toward all along: his own future.
