The holidays are often called “the Season of Giving” – and this year is no different. We have been honored to be the recipients of gifts of love from folks across Fairbanks and beyond. We’d like to express our deep appreciation and gratitude to our donors, including:
The Elks Lodge, for a donation we’ll use to purchase needed food for The Door. The Vernon Nash Car Club and Joel’s Place for their support and sponsorship. The ongoing donations being made on our behalf through the Co-Op Market and North Star Community Foundation. Organizations who have held drives on our behalf, including the UAF Social Work Club, Fairbanks Lutheran Church, and Girl Scout Troop 205. The Rabinowitz Courthouse, Pogo Mine and Sourdough Transfer for mattresses and office furniture for The Door and help moving them in. We also want to thank Boy Scout Troop 1005, Quota International of the Tanana Valley, Crossroads Baptist, and all of the Christmas cookie bakers who provided us with cookies for the Open House celebration. We also want to thank the many individuals who’ve donated this month through the Open House and Open The Door campaigns.
Because of your gifts, heart, and support, we will provide not only a cheerful Christmas for our shelter guests, but an inviting and beautiful temporary home in The Door. Thank you!
