In some ways, I thought this day would never come.

Today, thanks to you, kids needing access to shelter can find it 24-7. For many of us, safety is something we take for granted. We don’t have to think ‘What will I do if…’ but everyday, hundreds of kids in Fairbanks wonder just that: ‘Where will I sleep tonight?’

The Door, though seemingly on a fast track, didn’t happen overnight. It is the culmination of a life’s dream, miracles, and the love and support of community agencies and individuals just like You, and a belief that love is a verb.

A youth seeing the inside of The Door for the first time, responded in wonder, “They built this just for us?” then answered his own question, “They built this just for us!”
