  1. Meeting called to order at 5:32 pm. Convened via Zoom video conference and at Clearwater. Attendees: Jim Williams, Joyce Weis, Dave Miller, Kendi Adams, Alnise Wyles. A quorum was present. Absent: Paul Alanson. We did lose Dave Miller\u2019s connection part way through, but a quorum was present for the remainder. Guest: Jocelyn.<\/li>
  2. Joyce opened in prayer. Devotion led by Joyce.<\/li>
  3. Motion to approve agenda reorder of 10b to this slot. (MSP Joyce, Kendi) Passed unanimously.<\/strong><\/li>
  4. Approve March 31, 2021 Board Meeting Minutes \u00a0<\/li>
  5. Signature Items<\/li>
  6. Potential board members
    1. Joyce to transition off the board in the fall, hopefully will be able too train the new secretary<\/li>
    2. Jim looking to put in an announcement in the Newsminer, letters to churches for more board members<\/li><\/ol><\/li>
    3. Financial Report
      1. Donor update \u2013 nothing to report today.<\/li>
      2. Balance sheets and Income Statement \u2013 Alnise
        1. Clearwater Checking $30,678.45<\/li>
        2. Clearwater Savings $ 15,028.62<\/li>
        3. FYA Checking $16,379.68<\/li>
        4. FYA Savings $10,845.71<\/li>
        5. Denali Bank Account $7,781.52<\/li>
        6. Dave asked for the Alaska Community Foundation Account balance. We will get this information at a future date.<\/li>
        7. Dave will be by tomorrow morning at 11 AM for the deposit run.<\/li>
        8. Budget update \u2013 nothing to report today<\/li>
        9. Fundraising- general plan through Summer 2021 FMH Fitness Studios \u2013 Spin for A Cause July 4th at 2pm\u2013 we will have a table for The Door<\/li><\/ol><\/li><\/ol><\/li>
        10. ED Report
          1. COVID Update \u2013 lifting \u201cShelter in Place\u201d slowly. Some staff members have decided to get vaccinated.<\/li>
          2. Staffing Update \u2013 new hire. Madison \u2013 vista, working on online presence such as Ticktock. Staff just completed verbal de-escalation training.<\/li>
          3. Drake Street Update \u2013 We have a house-sitter set to come in for part of May.\u00a0 $1800 mortgage, $200 utilities. If we sold the house, then the funds would go back into the Yocum Funds. There is nothing in YHDP application that is binding to have the Drake Street property, and if we sold the Drake Street House, we could still get the Life Navigators and set their office up at the Red House.Jim made a motion to sell Drake Street House so we can focus on our current assets. (MSP Jim, Kendi). <\/strong>Dave Miller would probably support, but we lost his connection during the meeting for this vote. This motion passed unanimously with those board members present which was Jim, Kendi, and Joyce which was enough to form a quorum.<\/strong> We will delegate the task of selling to Dave Miller.<\/li>
          4. Shelter Update \u2013trying to make youth\/shelter more culturally aware and welcoming.<\/li>
          5. Clearwater Update- Dave Bates has posted a listing for another counselor. The board would like to get some numbers on how things would benefit the organization. Update on the second counselor. Alnise to consult with Mike O\u2019Brien on Clearwater staffing. Kendi requests a Clearwater report for the board from Dave Bate for next meeting.<\/li>
          6. YHDP Update- Final document submission happened in February. We are on a hold for this as HUD is having technical and system issues, and we should have an update by Mid-May.<\/li>
          7. Building update- last week had some plumbing issues for the upstairs bathroom in the shelter, and then in the office from the roof. Had to have snow removal on the roof and it is recommended we do this every year for the shelter.<\/li>
          8. Education \u2013 IATC Conference \u2013 Alnise will be attending this starting this Sunday, April 25th through Friday, April 30th in Seattle.<\/li><\/ol><\/li>
          9. Unfinished Business
            1. Planning Meeting for Core Values, Strategic Plan, and Business Plan (tabled)<\/li>
            2. Treasurer\u2019s position – tabled to next meeting<\/li>
            3. ED Evaluation process – ready to launch!<\/li>
            4. Thank you calls to donors \u2013 Alnise has a financial contributors Excel spreadsheet, will send to Joyce<\/li>
            5. IRS 990 filing for 2020 \u2013 needs to be approved by the board before sending this off.<\/li>
            6. Transfer of shelter from CoF to FYA \u2013 per Alnise, this is in motion. An ordinance will go before the city council and we have to testify, we just need the date.<\/li>
            7. One Homeless Night (May 21st) \u2013 Alnise would give a bundle of social media to the Vista Madison (spelling). Patrick will get the link on our website. We will maybe put in a radio ad. Alnise to contact Design Alaska for the new date. Costs: Food and Advertising. Event: Tour of the Door, share youth stories, share our mission. Fort building contest. Supposed to be a quiet time but doesn\u2019t always have to.<\/li>
            8. Community & Donor Appreciation Block Party \u2013 June 12 2pm \u2013 anyone can come. Invite Patrick, Sarah, and Marylee, and staff for recognition.<\/li><\/ol><\/li>
            9. New Business
              1. Red House \u2013 Discuss\/Plan how to start usingJocelyn \u2013 desk, computer

                2. Board Members \u2013 table for the board members and keys for Jim<\/li>
                3. Phone, Wi-fi \u2013Alnise to check with Gary to see how we can set things up<\/li><\/ol><\/li>
                4. Introduce Jocelyn to Board & Alnise \u2013 Jocelyn can help with bookkeeping, to take pressure off Alnise so she can focus on the youth. She will settle in in the Red House.<\/li><\/ol><\/li>
                5. Committee Report
                  1. Fundraising Committee \u2013 discussed for the next two months, Kendi is also looking into a Zumba fundraiser<\/li>
                  2. Sunshine Committee<\/li>
                  3. Building Committee – discussed building concerns above. Need to have the roof shoveled off annually in the winter.<\/li><\/ol><\/li>
