  1. Meeting called to order at 5:34pm. Convened via a hybrid of in-person meeting and Zoom video conference. Attendees: \u00a0Clearwater Board Room: Alnise Wyles, Jim Williams, Joyce Weis. Zoom Video Conference: Dave Miller, Kendi Adams. Absent: Paul Alanson. A quorum was present.<\/li>
  2. Jim Williams opened in prayer.<\/li>
  3. Jim Williams led the devotion.<\/li>
  4. Approve February 3, 2021 Board Meeting Minutes \u2013 MSP (Dave, Joyce)<\/strong><\/li>
  5. Signature Items \u2013 there were no items to sign at the meeting.<\/li>
  6. Potential board members
    1. Margarita Bell (spelling) \u2013 wants to come onto the board but is working on the transfer of the shelter to full ownership from the City of Fairbanks to FYA but cannot be on the board while completing that.<\/li>
    2. Meryem Udden \u2013 Kendi will check in with Meryem and her husband.<\/li>
    3. Kendi has talked to two ANE teachers who may know board members who are interested.<\/li><\/ol><\/li>
    4. Financial Report
      1. New bookkeeper \u2013 at Wilson & Wilson. There is a letter stating they are working to transfer our books to QuickBooks desktop as this is better for our organization.<\/li>
      2. Account Balances
        1. Denali State Bank \u2013 Loan for Drake Street $11,381.73
          1. We have someone house-sitting and quarantining there for February<\/li><\/ol><\/li><\/ol>
            1. Alaska USA \u2013 FYA Savings $15,843.76<\/li><\/ol>

                  2. Year to Year comparison will be emailed<\/li>
                  3. Clearwater Budget Update\u2013 will be completed in Quickbooks with the help of Wilson & Wilson<\/li>
                  4. Donor update \u2013 donations are up. Alnise is working on Tax Letters for donations with Wilson & Wilson.<\/li>
                  5. Fundraising- general plan through Summer 2021 \u2013FNH Studios wants to dedicate this year\u2019s \u201cSpin for A Cause\u201d to The Door. Will be in the summer, no dates yet.<\/li><\/ol><\/li>
                  6. ED report
                    1. Mentoring with Marylee \u2013 working on transferring Marylee\u2019s email to Alnise.\u00a0 Still meeting with her.<\/li>
                    2. Alnise will take a 2 week leave for March 6-21st<\/sup>. McCaughla (spelling?) will be Admin on call. Jim will be on call for financials. Alnise will double check the signature cards to make sure who is all legally able to sign for FYA.<\/li>
                    3. Community Involvement \u2013 Alnise will be on a panel at Ft. Wainwright for a spike in Teen Dating Violence<\/li>
                    4. Red House \u2013 The red house should be fixed up by next board meeting. Dave asked about how much out of pocket will be, Jon with Worry Free will get back with us on costs and Alnise will double check the insurance deductible.<\/li>
                    5. Shelter & Staff\u00a0 – Grievance from youth mentioned by Alnise previously was a false claim after investigation with cameras and witnesses and via statement from youth. We have a Vista start who will be working side-by-side with Alnise on YHDP. The staff are working on cultural awareness in the shelter. Alnise is implementing more trainings for staff \u2013 there will be de-escalation training via Zoom in April.<\/li>
                    6. COVID Update \u2013 vaccines an option for staff if they want it. Alnise has sent out information.<\/li>
                    7. Staffing Update \u2013 Morale is good, and staff meetings have been productive.<\/li>
                    8. Clearwater Update \u2013 counselors are meeting more clients in-person.\u00a0 Dave\u2019s contract has been updated so he can receive his salary adjustment.<\/li><\/ol><\/li>
                    9. Unfinished Business
                      1. Planning Meeting for Core Values, Strategic Plan, and Business Plan \u2013 work on this end of May \/ early June on a Saturday with Jim from Foraker<\/li>
                      2. Discussing properties with Assessor \u2013 Alnise will talk with Brad at Assessing<\/li>
                      3. Treasurer’s position \u2013 Jim to discuss with board candidate. If amenable, the board will vote on the board blog and ratify at the next meeting.<\/li>
                      4. Website ideas \u2013 Kendi has an idea about S\u2019more \u2013 a bulletin board that you can email to people which is really accessible. Alnise to work with Kendi and Patrick. Also, we need to update Kendi\u2019s bio and headshot.<\/li>
                      5. Thank you BBQ to the public \u2013 Tentatively scheduled for June 12 in the late afternoon. Jim to take lead on this.<\/li>
                      6. COVID exit strategy \u2013 The Door licensing mandate is guiding this for the shelter. Kids can go back to Boys and Girl\u2019s Club, but are wearing masks. With Clearwater, clients are returning.<\/li>
                      7. ED Directives \u2013 approved by board and posted online.<\/li>
                      8. ED Evaluation process \u2013 June performance evaluation every year.<\/li>
                      9. Thank you calls to donors \u2013 Joyce & Alnise will work on this.<\/li><\/ol><\/li>
                      10. New Business
                        1. Devotions schedule- March\u00a0 – Alnise, April \u2013 Joyce, May \u2013 Kendi if meeting is after the 20th<\/sup>.<\/li><\/ol><\/li>
                        2. Committee Reports
                          1. Fundraising Committee \u2013 Kendi has been part of Zumba Fundraisers and will look into this. OHN in the Spring?<\/li>
                          2. Sunshine Committee \u2013 staff really liked the fig bars. Board to come up with a Sunshine event for February.<\/li>
                          3. Building Committee \u2013 no updates besides the update on the Red House.<\/li><\/ol><\/li>
                          4. Next meetings(s): March 31, 2021 \u2013 5:30 pm \u2013 hybrid on Zoom and in the Red House.<\/li>
