Motion by Patrick; 2<sup>nd<\/sup> by Kathy<\/p>\n<p>Motion (by Patrick)- An officer can sign on behalf of the President of the Board when the President is absent. Barbara seconded. Motion passed.<\/p>\n<p>Motion: Change Clearwater Counseling\u2019s check-signing policy to require two signatures on checks written for $1,000 or more. Only one signer is needed for checks under $1,000. Motion by Patrick; 2<sup>nd<\/sup> by Rilene. Motion passed.<\/p>\n<p>Board members in attendance voted to Accept Jeff Bizzarro\u2019s application to join the Board. Unanimous vote.<\/p>\n<p>Handed out print-out of the \u201cBrief synopsis of shelter activity\u201d for board members to review.<\/p>\n<p>Annual Arctic Alliance meeting on 12\/5 11:30-1pm. We still need a board member to join Marylee and represent FYA.<\/p>\n<h2>*HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT*<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Evaluations will be posted in the next week. Please read Evaluation documents before the next meeting and we will discuss them at that time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Reviewed Financial Report.<\/p>\n<p>Marylee will post a Director\u2019s Report at a later date. She shared with us how much time she has been putting in lately. Things have been busy with the shelter opening and various issues involving employees. First United Methodist invited us to an activity this weekend. Marylee spoke at Door of Hope Church. Kathy spoke at the Fairbanks Lutheran Church Council meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Sarah volunteered to make the ornament on behalf of FYA and get it to The Carol H. Brice Center by next Tuesday, December 4<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>Patrick showed all of us how to input travel dates into the board website. This is a reminder to please do this if you are going out of town!<\/p>\n<p>It was unanimously decided that FYA will pay for fingerprinting and background checks for staff (and anyone else we agree would need it- for example, a volunteer who cannot afford it him\/herself).<\/p>\n<h2>*HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT!*<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Everyone needs to please read through the shelter documents that have been posted on the board website and provide feedback by Monday, December 3<sup>rd<\/sup>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We have signed up for Greater Giving- and we now need to set it up. Patrick will work on that in the next couple of weeks, in conjunction with a website revision.<\/p>\n<p>Next meeting will be Tuesday, December 18<sup>th<\/sup> at 5pm.
