Please take a moment to review theJeffrey Roman Bizzarro Resume<\/a> and application for consideration as a new or future FYA Board Member.I believe you will find my dedication and involvement within the Fairbanks community is\u00a0extensive.<\/div>\n
I came to Fairbanks in 1994 compliments of the U.S. Army and when my enlistment was completed my wife and I realized that Alaska was home. We discovered that Fairbanks was a safe community with quality schools and a place where we could put down roots and raise our 3 sons.<\/div>\n
My background has been mostly from the Labor world and I feel I can bring a unique perspective to FYA as a” hands on\/boots on the ground” type of viewpoint. In addition my contacts through the local Union Organizations can provide a resource to FYA fundraising,volunteering and political advocacy.<\/div>\n
When my wife of 20 years passed away in 2008 I found my self seeking solace through community\u00a0involvement and\u00a0volunteering. Having raised 3 sons here I understand and am\u00a0familiar\u00a0with the struggles and challenges that today’s\u00a0youth faces, and now that they are starting their own\u00a0life’s\u00a0journey I have been searching for a Non-profit agency to become active with.<\/div>\n
I look forward to serving on The FYA Board of Directors and working with you all to tackle the issue of homeless youths in our community.<\/div>\n

Having raised three children in our community I am aware of the challenges and\u00a0struggles\u00a0the youth of our community faces. I see a strong need for a youth shelter in our community especially given the climate in which they live and I would be a strong advocate for a\u00a0permanent\u00a0solution to the issue of homelessness.<\/div>\n

4. What is your professional experience with leadership and\/or your accomplishments in<\/div>\n
business, government, philanthropy, or the nonprofit sector:<\/div>\n

Although\u00a0I have no formal training in nonprofit management and facilitation,I was the Assistant Business Manager for local 1243 Carpenters Union which is a 501c-5. I believe I can bring a unique perspective to the agency.<\/div>\n

Please see the attached resume for my community service. What is not listed is my recent involvement with the Breast Cancer Detection Center as a volunteer for a month long fundraiser.<\/div>\n
