\nVistas: <\/em>Meagan was a whirlwind to say the least! She did a great job at the markets making friends with everyone. Her last day was 7\/27.
\nSarah continues to be steady and consistent. She has made exciting progress with the Street Stories and Revive the Red Tent group.<\/p>\n

Coordinated Community Meeting:<\/em> in light that we need shelter for youth \u2013 this winter, we invited other stakeholders to a conversation. 15 came, including OCS, FCA, JPSOS, FNSBSD, FNA, Access AK, and others. We had a great brainstorming session and came up with 4 ideas to pursue:
\nHousing First
\nB&B\/Hostel
\nShared Spaces that are vacant at night
\nHost Homes
\nSarah and I are exploring these and will report back to the community group the end of August.<\/p>\n

Angry, Young & Poor:<\/span><\/em> Wearing dual hats (FYA Director & Youth Focus Chair for FHHC) we collaborated with Joel\u2019s Place AmeriCorps & the Street Outreach & Advocacy Program to provide services to homeless youth who would be attending the AYP event in Ester. We orchestrated & completed a dry run for an unofficial count of homeless youth (interviewing 22 youth, 12 of which were homeless) for a more substantial event the end of January in 2013. Alaska Housing Finance Corporation is very interested in this information \u2013 so it is good to be providing important information to them too.<\/p>\n

Grants:<\/span><\/em> <\/em>I continue to rework over 1 question of the BCP application each week. Just to save a little stress for next year.<\/p>\n

Public Relations:<\/span><\/em>
\n<\/em>30 second PSA (not published yet)
\n<\/em>Letter to the Editor: published 7\/13
\nWe now have stationary + note cards with out logo
\nMeagan made great progress with Newsletter
\nParenting Campaigns: have been discussing this with Patty Meritt and doing some research. We’ve had positive feedback from others – to move ahead with this idea – looking at radio spotlights.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n
