{"id":2353,"date":"2014-04-03T10:03:36","date_gmt":"2014-04-03T18:03:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fairbanksyouthadvocates.org\/board\/?page_id=2353"},"modified":"2021-07-27T08:03:45","modified_gmt":"2021-07-27T16:03:45","slug":"ed-job-description","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/fairbanksyouthadvocates.org\/board\/misc\/ed-job-description\/","title":{"rendered":"ED Job Description"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><b>Fairbanks Youth Advocates Executive Director Job Description<\/b><\/h1>\n<p><b>PROGRAM:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Fairbanks Youth Advocates\u00a0 (FYA)\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>REPORTS TO:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Fairbanks Youth Advocates Board of Directors<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>STATUS:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Full Time, Exempt<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SUMMARY<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Provide visionary leadership, direction and communication to achieve the organization\u2019s goals and objectives, maximize FYA\u2019s mission performance and impact, and ensure financial sustainability. Build FYA\u2019s organizational capacity through program administration. Foster collaborative relationships with community agencies, businesses, individual donors, congregations and community partners.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>JOB QUALIFICATIONS:<\/b><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Preferred Bachelor\u2019s Degree in related social services field and\/or leadership and or 3-5 years of leadership and management experience in ministry, human services, or related fields,<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Minimum of 2\u00a0 years experience recruiting, developing, and supervising staff and\/or a core of volunteers,<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Demonstrated track record of leading and managing an organization or increasing an organization\u2019s capacity and growth,<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meets minimum qualifications of Assistant Administrator, according to the Alaska Child Care Residential Regulations\/ Community Care license, or <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">must be able to pass approval by the state licensing board.<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a07 AAC 50.200. Qualifications of administrator\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0(a) The administrator of a residential child care facility or a foster parent must be an individual who is at least 21 years of age.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(b) An administrator must be of good character and reputation, have an understanding of the development of children, the ability to care for children, positive experience with working with people of different cultures, and the skills to work with children, family members, division staff, community agencies, and, if applicable, staff of the facility.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(c) The administrator of a Residential Child Care Facility must have management and supervisory skills necessary to plan and evaluate programs, select and supervise personnel, and manage finances. In this subsection, &#8220;select and supervise personnel&#8221; includes the delegation of responsibility and motivation of staff.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(d) The administrator of a Residential Child Care Facility must have at least 60 semester hours of college credit or an associate degree in a human services field. College credit in management will substitute for 30 of the 60 required hours. In addition, an administrator of a residential child care facility must have a minimum of four years of increasingly responsible supervisory and administrative experience in a child welfare agency or other setting that serves children, adolescents, or both, with at least one year of experience in a residential setting.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(e) In addition to the requirements of this section, an administrator must meet the personnel qualifications set out in 7 AAC 50.210.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(f) The designated administrator shall submit to the licensing representative the names, addresses, and telephone numbers of four individuals, at least three of whom are unrelated by blood or marriage to the designated administrator, who can provide references attesting to the designated administrator&#8217;s good character, reputation, interpersonal, and professional skills.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(g) The licensing representative will assess the qualifications of the designated administrator. If the review shows that the person is not qualified under this section and 7 AAC 50.210, the licensing representative will inform the agency that the individual may not serve as an administrator and that the agency&#8217;s license is subject to denial or revocation unless a qualified administrator is designated within 30 days of receipt of notice by the agency.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Experienced in generating revenue for an organization as a volunteer or a professional,<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Able to pass State\/Federal Background checks as required by the State of Alaska.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Must have a current Alaska Driver\u2019s license.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight:
